, a non-profit membership organization of Women Business Owners, was formed to provide a forum for women business owners to share ideas, discuss issues relevant to running a business and, when possible, improve legislation that pertains to women owned businesses. Whether it be marketing, growing or starting a business, financing issues, securing government contracts, establishing a web presence or moving into international markets, the HVWBOA provides an arena for Women Business Owners to work together and share experiences. We encourage all of our members to attend regular meetings as we do not take regular meeting minutes. The purpose of our group is to network, share ideas and learn from each other.

Membership is open to women business owners located in the Mid-Hudson Valley, New York. Employees are not eligible to join and are not permitted to represent members are meetings.

Membership Requirements:

To qualify for membership, you must be an owner, partner or majority shareholder in your business (or the company you represent) or you must have formed (individually or with others) or purchased the business and continue to be actively engaged in the business. Franchise owners are eligible. Part-time business owners are eligible as long as you meet the above criteria. Independent sales, marekting or distribution personnel are not eligible.

• Member’s Mentoring Program – receive and give assistance to other members

HVWBOA is governed by an Executive Board. They each hold two-year terms. The entire membership shares in the decision-making process (votes on important issues) and works toward increasing membership and furthering the group’s goals.
